The pupils of Gaines district No. 3 school under the supervision of their teacher, Mrs. Howard Davis, gave a splendid entertainment lust Wednesday evening at the school house They played to a full house. The program was opened by an- nouncer Jack Anderson. The fol- lowing pre-primary children gave recitations nt the opening of the program: Cheryl Burnes, Betty Allen, Buddy Larson, Earl Young, David Canham and Isabel Lai- sen. This was followed by songs and short plays by members of the school After the entertainment a Christmas tree was enjoyed by all. The girls mode holders as gifts for their mothers and friends, the boys also gave gifts of their own hand work, plant stands and match scratchers. All scenery and tree decorations were made by the children. Mrs. Davis and her pu- pils doserve much prulse for the splendid entertainment given. Mrs. Frank Cobb passed away Sunday morning after a long ill- ness, aged 83 years. Funeral was held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. David Kllngler officiating. Burial was in Boxwood. Her hus- band has the sympathy of the en- tire community. Robert Sinclair in company with four boy friends, motored to Florida last week to spend the holidays. The school entertainment given in Grange Hall lost Wednesday- night was largely attended and was a big success. The Medina Santa Clous was present and as- sisted everyone in making merry. On Thursday night the school children went through the village singing Christmas carols and de- livered 12 baskets of fruit, cookies and candy to shut-ins. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Root of Lee street returned home last week from their trip to Oklahoma.
