Mr . Devlin, the new vice-principal, will be the •ponsor of this organization. Plans hav e progressed rapidly since the first announcemen t of March 10, This second ste p in student gov- ernment will soon be in operutlon. Mr. Devlin and Mr . Trlppensco hav e already outlined several defi- nite functions of the forum. They ore: 1. To promote co-operation among th e students, teachers, an d administrators. 2. To regulate student affairs outside th e classroom. 3. To give students an oppor- tunity to express Ideas about changes ond Improvements. There are many problems that will fall Into th e hand* of the stu- dents under these functions. For instance, they ma y solve th o prob- lem of noon-hour congestion—ot the cafeteria or the bu s problem at night. Of course, the Student For - um won't take over tho running of the school, but It will give th e students o chance to express their ideas, and It will give them th o chance to oolvo certain problems to the advantag e of everyone. This is th e third annual track meet. Fo r the past two years the same group of boy s has been vic- torious at the meet—last year -as juniors and the preceding season as sophomores. This yea r they will enter th e meet as seniors, The freshmen, sophomores, and Juniors will be fighting extra- hard this yea r to prevent this group of boys from winning again. The purpose of this track meet is to provide opportunity to find new material for future contests. At last year's mee t th e track coach, Mr. Devlin, discovered Jac k \Prlncy\ Brlghom. Jock de- veloped Into M. H. S.'s fastest sprint ma n and earned honors muny times during the season. Expert Discloses Swedish Recipes On Tucsday„April 12, Mrs. Hil- dur Lundgren, a recent visitor to Sweden, addressed the Senior Home Economics Club on recipes for Swedish dishes. The girls of the club are making a study of foreign foods and hove already listened to other speakers on the subject. They made Easter baskets also. The children brought hard boile d 'eggs to school and colored them here. These were put into their baskets along with other things. First graders, too , had thei r Easter Party . They colored eggs ond made nests. The Easter bunny visited thei r room and left candy , eggs, chickens, and rabbits. The children heard Easter stories, sang songs, and played games ot their party. Pupils o f the second, third, and fourth grades learned Easter songs. They colored e^gs and made Easter baskets.
