This is one of the double featured bill, with the other picture being \THE CHASER.\ Bob Baker, \the Binding cow- boy,\ comes to the' New' Diana Saturday In \'Border Wolviejs.\ Trie young hero's: .easy-on-the-ear singing, together with hh western heroics, make this/ pleasant enter- tainment. There's plenty of ex- citement In subduing * the \bor- der wolves,\ but justice conquers and the conclusion will satisfy the most exacting. Melvyn Douglas and Florence Rice atar is \Fast Company** in a second feature Saturday. Claire Dodd, Not Pendleton and Doug- las Dumbrllle support the plot,in which mystery Is mixed with really good comedy in the murder of a receiver of stolen rare books. It'll keep you guessing. The long-awaited \Boy Meets Girl,\ starring Jimmy Cagney, Pat O'Brien and Marie Wilson, plays Sunday and Monday. The plot concerns the careers of two prankish writers, Cagney and O'Brien. They concoct their wild- est stunt when they successfully launch the career of an Infant before its birth. Marie Wilson, the dumb waitress, ploys the part of the mothgr-io-be. Ralph Bellamy plays the role of the producer of the sefewy scenario, and Dick Foran's the star. The complica- tions in which the writers, who are noted for their wild antics, become involved as godfathers of the iniant lead to uproarious com- edy. Certainly, do not miss this. \Racket Busters,\ which comes Tuesday and Wednesday, presents another American problem faced by our authorities. The plot of this film has been taken from the front pages of today's newspap- ers and is not exaggerated in any detail. Humphrey Bogart plays the role of a sinister racketeer who exacts tribute from the truck- ing business of a great city. Wal- ter Abel plays the part of the special prosecutor who attempts to end this racket, George Brent and Allen Jenkins oppose Bogart. Gloria Dickson plays Brent's wife. Kay Francis and Anita Louise star in \My Bill\ which is fea- tured Thursday and Friday. The fashionable Miss Francis plays an unpopular but well-meaning wid- bw with four children, three of jtay§ the part of the cranky old aunt and there's the town banker whose love for the widow has never died. This is old-fashioned comedy-drama with comedy creeping in when the sentiment rises up. The star of the picture is little Dickie Moore, who alone of the children, is respectful to his mother. Dennis O'Keefe and Ann Morris follow in \The Chaser,\ which deals with the problem of the ambulance chaser abetted by the crooked medico. O'Keefe plays his part with creditable natural- ness and Miss Morris adds ro- mance to the picture. Local Players' Production Affords A Riot of Laughs Clear skies and ideal weather, augmented by no indication of rain or of immoderate temperas ture, iavored the Town Players Monday evening When the CQin- edy of the. stage and movies, \Three Men.on a Horse,\ wag successfully presented \at the'.Open air theatre on Ohio and South Academy streets .before an audi- ence of well over 200 peopled ; The performance, the third, of- fering of the season, after seve?al= rather bad weather breaks? wajs the most difficult and ambitious undertaken by the local group of dramatists 'during the summer, with three difficult changes of scenery jjjeessary on an inade- quate stage. < '•.;'--.' The action of the play cen~? tered around Jrwiri Trowbridge, a meek, *j40-a-week greeting card writer, Whose hobby is > to pick the hprses' wjth uncanny aiccurapy on the busr—but only for, fiui- FolioWuig* a morning tilt yzith hfe wife and bro»her-in-Uw, he falls to get to the office but winds tip at the local hotel in town wheye he falls to with- three \followers of the race track. The charm is broken when the gamblers corn* pel Erwih to place a large.bet bn- a horse in the race. ',;._• : Leads in • the play were taken by Abbott BrowneU as Erwln Trowbridge and Mrs. Margaret Hoffmaster as his wife, while the part of the overbearing brother^' In-law was taken \; by lAlf; Lang- don. , In the role of Audrey, the. somewhat nagging wife, Mrs, Hoffmaster turned in some very effective and excellent worki while Langdon handled his lines skillfully to draw many laughs from the audience. An abundance of laughs were provided In the parts of the three followers of the track, played by Bernard Hart, David A. White, Jr., and Howard Hoffmaster, who carried the extremely difficult rapid-fire dialogue and patter of tlie race track in a manner that] was most creditable and satis- l factory for their efforts and hard work. Completing the trio was Miss Eleanor Ryan who, as Patsy's \gal furnished a good share of the evenihg's laughs in some amusing comedy work. Others In the cast to whom equal credit must be given for their, hard work and efforts were Miss Mary Acer ^s Gloria Grey, the reporter; Carl Burchell as Harry, the bartender/ John Hurd as Mose; Ray Hinckley as Mr. Carver; Robertson Vosler as the tailor, and Charles Acer as the delivery boy and Al, the photog- rapher.
