There ha* been fome high water reported in cer- tain areas, 6ut not with any not- able damage to the trout them- selves. So if your itching to drive into Wyoming county or down Cattaraugus way for a weekend ot trout fishing here's a few tips that may help. Wiscoy Creek, in Wyoming County, has been heavily stocked during the time that tho season hiiB been closed, . . . probably more heavily than any other stream In tho upstate area. This goes fo r tho Eas t Koy , too. You ma y find eomo good fishing in these streams . . . though not necessarily. They're heavily fished and other stream s may provid e better angling. The Cattaraugus has been re- ported as having washed pretty badly, as i t always docs, bu t may be In shape within the noxt two weeks. It's not quite so heavily fished below Yorkshire, but in the past this strotch has boon pro- ductiv e of some pretty good catches. If you want to travel a little further afield, th e Genesee in Its upper stretches i s pretty good, particularly beyond WOIIJSVIIIO. fewer anglers g o thore than other places, though It's well stocked with browns. Very fow rainbow. At Hammondsport un d on Cat- herine Creek we hav e ruportu of good fishing ovor tho weekend fol- lowing the sparse two weeks which oponcd the season.
