Ernest Diehl, who has been with Mrs. Diehl at their summer home here, is spending 1 some time in Florida. Miss Dorothy Cayea, a student at Mer:y hospital, Watertown, has returned to her duties after spend- ing 10 days here with her mother, Mrs. Ciarles Dupraw. Miss Ruth Walter, a student at Michigan State college, has re- turned for the summer holiday with her mother, Mrs. Myrtle Walter. Samuel Ldebman and family have arrived at the Ruisseamont colony for tae summer. Mrs. Cassius LaMoy of Eiiza- fcethto^Ti is at the Lake Placid Gen- eral hospital for observation. Mi. and Mrs. James Fullerton and children left Wednesday to spend the summer in camp on Lake Dunmore at Salisbury, Vt. Roy Allen will leave on Wednes- day to take a position with the Pennsylvania Railroad company in the electrical department, working out of Jersey City. • He will re- side with his sister, Mrs. Otis Maey, in New York. Mrs. Allen will remain with her mother here for the summer. Mrs. William Erdman of New York has arrived at the Ruissea- monL Siegfried Peirles and family ar- rived Tuesday to spend the sea- son at the Newman camp. Mrs. Myrtle Walter recently re- turned from Whitney Point where she was the guest of her sister- in-law, Mfss Elizabeth Walter. Major Tracy Kerr and family of Springfield, Mass., spent the week- end here with relatives. Miss Connie E« Bushy returned Friday from Guilford, Conn., where she had spent 10 days. Harry Hadley, who has been visiting his sister, Miss Ethel Had- ley, for several weeks, will re- turn to Syracuse on Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. Louis S. Simmons, who have been opening their camp on the east lake, left yesterday to spend the summer at Star Lake. Mrs. Jennie M. Isham has rented the Nutshell to Mr. and Mrs. Dar- rah Cooper of Palm Beach, Max Albert Block and family of Long Island have rented an apart- ment in the Finch cottage on Oneida avenue. Mrs. C. J. Ortloff was in Syra- cuse Monday to attend the gradua- tion of her grandson, Robert Mil- ler, from North High school. Re- turning with her were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Miller, son Donald, and daughter Cathryn, who will spend a week here. Mrs. Charles Ferris of Lake Clear recently spent several 4ays in town. Mrs, Paul Donahue of Oswego ami Mrs, Ray Gladd of Fulton spent the weekend' with Mr. and Mrs, FT«3 Gladd and other rela- tives here. Mrs. Bert Drake has been visit- ing in Waldron. Her husband and Miss Helen Drake will motor there for her this weekend. Mr. and Mrs, Joe Lawrence have gone to Old Forge for the sum- mer. H. M. Searles of Rahway, N. J., arrived Saturday to occupy his cottage for the summer. Mrs. Charles Buck has taken an apartment in the Roberto cottage. Rev. Edward Risen of Peoria, HI., and friends of Plattsburg were Sunday guests of Mr. an4 Mrs, Fred Gladd. Rev. Kusch, who was a friend of Mr. and Mrs. Gladd in Plattsburg before he studied for the priesthood in St. Paul, Minn., invited them to hear him say his first mass at Our Lady of Victory church, Plattsburg, on June 15, and attend the reception which fol- lowed. He was ordained at the Cathedral of St. Mary at Peoria on June 8. Mrs. Katherine Deyo of Laurel, Md., and Miss Ardella Miller of Washington, D. C, were here to attend the graduation of Mrs. Deyo's grandchildren, Fred For- tune, jr., and Miss Katherine For- tune. Betty Fortune accompanied them upon their return on Wednes- day. Paul Green, who formerly lived with Rev. Otis Dike at the Bap- tist parsonage, called on friends here Thursday. Mr. and Mirs. F. R. Razook are in New York buying fall merchan- dise for their shops. Clarence Williams has taken a civil service appointment at La- Guardia airport where he will work as a mechanic en beacon lights. Mrs. Williams will spend some time with her family in Youngs- town, O. Dr. and Mrs. Carl Goldmark ar- rived Saturday from. New York to spend the sumimer here. Dr. George G. Hart of Parkside drive left Monday night for Cle- veland where he will start his in- ternship at St. Luke's hospital for ©rie^reftr. Mrs. Harold Hosking of Wash- ingtonville and Miss Florence Rowe of Burnside were guests this week of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Drake. Mr. Drake and Allan Drake were in WasMngtonville last weekend. Mir. and Mrs. DeWrtt A. Stearns and children of New York City are occupying the Weiskopf cottage on North Main street for the sum- mer. Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Robert Pendleton is operating the Stevens House lodfre on Sara- nac avenue this summer. Nelson Watson of the New York Central has leased an apartment in the Finch cottage for the sum* mer. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Shehadi have arrived for the summer and are occupying the Ralph French cottage. Miss Doyle and Stanley Hilts Wed on Thursday Miss Marie Doyle of Lake Placid and Stanley Hilts of Gouverneur were married yesterday at St. Pat- rick's rectory in Jordan by Rev. James A. Murray. The bride is the daughter of Ed- ward Doyle and the late Mrs. Doyle of Lake Placid and the groom is the son of Mrs. John Hilts of Gou- verneur. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Margaret Doyle, and Leo Cantwell of the Lake Pla- cid Central school faculty was best man. Mrs. Hilts, who has been a mem- ber of the Lake Placid local facul- ty for the past seven years, is a graduate of Lake Placid High school and Potsdam Normal, class of '34. While there she was pres- ident of the Women's Student Council and an active member of Alpha Delta Kappa sorority. Mr. Hilts, a former music stapervisoie here, received his B.S. degree from St. Lawrence university in 192*, a graduate of the Crane Institute of Music at Potsdam and obtained his master's degree at New York university. A wedding breakfast was served at Krebs in Skaneateles, after which the couple left on a wedding Community Church Notes The church school will meet at 10. This is a graded school with classes for all. At Divine worship, which is held at 11, Rev. Frederick G. MacKenzie will administer the Lord's supper. The public is invited to this serv- ice. On Tuesday at 8 the Boy Scouts will meet in the church vestry. On Thursday evening at 7:30 the weekly Fellowship service will be held. Soden. Judge Elmer Vincent suspended sentence on Edward J. Drews, in- dicted on two counts for grand lar- ceny after he was allowed, because of unusual circumstances, to plead guilty to petit larceny. Sentence was also suspended on Walter James Crowes, indicted for bur- glary, third degree, and petit lar- ceny. He pleaded guilty to petit larceny and was placed on proba- tion for two years. CELEBRATE SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Justice of the Peace Clarence Eccleston and Mrs. Eceleston cele- brated their 25th wedding anniver- sary on Juoe 18, entertaining at a family dinner at LeBourget res- taurant. Four generations were present, including Mrs. Eecleston's mother, Mrs. Louise Taylor cf Glendale, L. I.; their son, Allan Eceleston. and Mrs. Eccleston and their daughter, Alyn.
