The couple received many lovely gifts from their friends. PTA Card Party Is Atteoded by 100 People About 100 attended the PTA card party held at the Hotel Aiarcy last Thursday. A cake decorated by Mrs. Ed Lynch was won by J. C. Jubin and an electric blanket was won by Mrs. Clifton Wilkins. NortkwtriStriats lisped Paper MB Foresaking their textbooks for realities, twenty-five chemistry students of Nortbwood School made a complete tour of the J. and J. Rogers Paper Company in Au j Sable Porks on Monday. Making the trip in the school | bus, the group was firs* enter- tained at a picnic lunch at the In- dole golf club by Mr. and Mrs. James Rogers, whose s^pn is a stu- dent at Northwood, and who was a member of the group. Immedi- ately afterward they were taken on a guided tour of the pulp mill v.here they saw the logs reduced to pulp and treated in preparation for paper-making. From there they went through the paper mill, wherein the various additional processes, such as coating, tinting and sizing were explained. With their schedule somewhat upset by tire trouble, the boys I were again treated to a picnic sup- per before returning to Cake Pla- cid and the theoretical aspects of chemistry. Track Team Roewfag fate Shape For Meet The high school's cindermen are rounding into shape for the open- ing meet, a triangular affair, here on Saturday, May 8, with Keese ville and Plattsburg. Coach Bob Connelly's squad is fairly strong in the running events but woefully weak in the field events. Top performer, of course, is Bill Gilmore, who is rated as one of the best in the North Coun- try. Others who have showed good early season form are Chaun- try. Others who have shown 8S0, Dick Hunkins in the hurdles ?nd Lynn Wilson and Gus Krieger iu the sprints. INFANT DEATH INDUSTRIAL ARTS EXHIBIT NOW GOING ON An industrial arts exhibit is now goisg on in the windows of Thaire's ski room put on by mem- bers of the industrial arts classes of both the junior and senior high tchool students of Lake Plaeid Central School under the direction of Arthur Jackson. The exhibition is being held in conjunction with Parents Night, which will be observed on Thurs- day, May 6. The exhibit will re- main in the window until next Thursday and parents and friends are urged to visit and observe youths at work on projects of this nature.
