On Sunday Mrs. Ethel Hettrick of Dayton Avenue visited at the home of her aunt , Mrs. George Coon of West Orange. Accom- panying her to New Jersey were her son and daughter-in-law , Mr. and Mrs. David Hettrick of Ya- phank , with their four children. The Ladies ' Aid Society of Brookfield Presbyterian Churc h held its monthly meeting Thursday night at the church. Present were Mesdames Alice Dye , Ph y lis Car- ter , Ethel Hettrick , Alma Wil- liams , Doris Nodine , Patricia Kru- ger , Stephanie Freese , Jean Fre- ese and Zoe Freese. Plans for a rummage sale to be held in July were made with Mrs. Hettrick and Mis. Carter as co-chairmen. Mrs. Patricia Kruger was appointed missionary chairman. The members voted to send an offering through the Presbyterial for the work at the Wanless Hospital in Miraj, India. Mrs. Nodine was the hos- tess for the evening. BROOKFIELD CHOIR On Sunday the members of the Brookfield Presbyterian Church choir enjoyed dinner at the Lin- denmere , Center Moriches. They were accompanied by the mem- bers of the session of the church and their wives , Mr. and Mrs. John Freese , Mr. and Mrs. Roy Dye and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Freese. The group attending were Miss SueBeth Carter , Alice Dye , Susan Freese , Peggy Genia , Ca- rol Neuhoff , Janice Nodine , Mar- cia , Maureen and Janice Rice and Cheryl Williams; David C arter , Lincoln Freese , James and How- ard Genia and Gary Glubiack. After dinner they traveled to East Quogue where Mrs. Selma Hill , a former teacher , was p leased with several of their musical of- ferings. They sang \Seek Ye The Lord \ (Roberts); \Jacob' s Lad- der , \ a spiritual , and a special number for Mother ' s Day \We Thank Thee For Our Mothers \ (Giiker). At the end of the Mo- ther ' s day offering Mrs. Hill read for the young folks a poem she had written as a tribute to her own mother in 1924. She had been a teacher for many years in North Manorville School ; some of the young people were in her classes , and all of them were affiliated with her in Brookfield Church and Sunday School. The affair was organized by Mrs. George Vakay, president , assisted by Mesdames Vernon Hawkins , Donald Tuttle , James Watson , Pe- ter Jespersen , Michael Shiminski , Ruth David , Edward Reynolds , Jr. , George Delong, Robert McPhail and Edward Bristow , Jr. The Church Helpers of the East Moriches Presbyterian Church held its monthly luncheon meeting last Thursday, Mrs. Austin Mos- bacher presiding. Miss Lila Barber led the devotions. Mark Osborn , a member of the Early Fliers Club, attended a meeting of that organization at the Suffolk Air Force Base , Sun- day. The program was a celebra- tion of 50 years of Naval Aviation. Among the speakers who tol d of personal experiences in this field were Eleanor Smith , the well known aviatrix , Mr. Brennan , the mayor of Southampton , Arthur Mix , and Colonel Frank Hill , the base commanding officer. Eleanor Smith was at Cape Canaveral for the launching of the rocket that took Commander Shepard into space while her son , Patrick , now in the Navy was in the Bahamas with the group ready to fish the spaceman out of the sea. The Men ' s Club of The East Moriches Methodist Churc h will hold a roast beef dinner in the church basement Saturday. There will be servings at 5:30 and 7 p. m. The Rev. and Mrs. Robert Lem- mermann and Mrs. Ruth Palmer will attend the annual conference of the New York Eastern confe r- ence of the Methodist Church in Grace Church in Valley Stream , from May 24 to 28 , Mrs. Palmer will be the lay delegate to this conference. Walter Albertzard of Washing- ton State and Germany, an artist , residing in Mrs . Eva Osborn ' s cot- tage on Montauk Highway, is busy preparing canvasses for a one- man exhibit. Mr. Albertzard paints in both a realistic or abstract man- ner and in his spare time is mak- ing a study of commercial art. He has already exhibited in galleries on the West Coast and sold a number of his paintings. The pink and white carnations in the sanctuary in honor of Moth- er ' s Day were provided by the Women ' s organizations of the Presbyterian Church and everyone received a flower when leaving. The kindergarten and first grade department made little Victorian posies to take home to their moth- ers , under the supervision of Mrs. Vernon Hawkins and Miss Patri- cia Bristow.
