Coram WSCS Mark s 20th Year I CORAM—The Woman ' s Society of Christian Service of Trinity Methodist Church in Coram cele- brated the twentieth year of uni- fication of all women ' s groups in the church with a birthday party last Thursday. The program began when four of the members , dressed in costume of years gone by, came into the room to conduct a meeting such as might have been held in 1925. Min- utes of the meeting, showing a balance of about $5 , and letters of thanks from the minister for pro- duce and essentials were read. Quilts were the lively topic of dis- cussion as the sales of these needy articles of housewares were the means of getting urgent funds , with which to pay the minister ' s salary. The minutes of the first reor- ganized society date back to 194G , the officers were president , Mrs. Wendell S. Still; vice president , Mis. Chris Koschara ; treasurer , Mrs. Sidney Ballance; secretary, Mrs. Rudol ph Hahn , chaplain , Mrs. COSTUMES REPRESENTING days gone by ri ght , Mrs . Leighton Minerich , Mrs. Charles w ere w orn by these members of Woman ' s So- Lyon , president ; Mrs. Joseph King, and Mrs. cietj of Christian Service of Trinity Methodist Mark D j mp fi ma j er . The minutes of that meeting were read , with the charter members names read , after which each of them , to- gether with others dating back to that meeting, were honored wi th corsages. That brought the meeting up to the night of the pi*ogram , and a short business meeting was held to make known the contrast of to- day ' s treasury and the demands made on it compared to those of 20 years ago. Given corsages were today ' s officers , president , Mrs. Charles Lyon ; vice-president , Mrs. George Lyon ; secretary, Mrs. Bert Brower; treasurer , Mrs. Howard Christiansen; secretary of promo- tion , Mrs. R. Hahn; secretary of missionary education , Mrs. Frank Lyon; secretary of Christian so- cial relations , Mrs. Step hen Mar- inuzzi; secretary of youth work , Mrs. Herbert LaSauce; secretary of supply work , Mrs. Leighton Minerich; and secretary of spiri- tual life , Mrs. David Hurley. The meeting closed with a Necrology ^Service conducted by Mrs. Frank Lyon , with the present president , Mrs. Charles Lyon, placing a car- nation on the altar for each of the departed members. The meeting was then adjourn- ed , and everyone went to the Fel- lowship hall to participate in the cutting of a huge birthday cake , decorated with the outline and name of the church. Many old pictures were on dis- play. An old friendship quilt , with names of some members present and some departed embi oidered on it in 1932 called to mind events of those good old days. Seated around • an H-shaped table , with favors for everyone , many tales of those days of hard work , with parties at the beach , were recalled. A de- lightful evening came to a close all too soon , but many members felt a warm satisfaction to belong to this organization which serves the church and the Lord. Those dressed in costume were Mrs. Josep h King, Mrs . Thomas Lyon , Mrs. Leighton Minerich and Mrs. Mark Dimpfimaier.
