Eugene Grau of Oakwood Street is slowl y recovering from injuiies received while fishing with a group of friends in a boat off Block Island , when very hi g h w aves caused the boat to capsize , throwing Mr. Grau into the water where he was struck by the boat. The captain of the boat was also injured and both men were taken to Southampton Hospital where they remained for almost a week. Mr. Gra u has a jewelry store on Hawkins Avenue and specializes in wa tch repairing. His store re- mained closed while he was in the hospital. He is now back in busi- ness. Other officers elected were Lester Brown , vice president , and Mr. Berger , secretai y-treasurer. The club is- made up of property owners of Lakecrest Lane on the west side of the Lake. WOMEN'S SOCIAL CLUB The Map lecrest Women ' s Social Club held its last meeting in the home of Mrs. George R. Peterson on Crestwood Lane. It was the first anniversar y of the club. Mrs. Albert Vassello , president , was welcomed back after a leave of absence. She was congratula- ted on the birth of her daughter and was presented with diaper service for one month. The club members are p lanning an evening at Jones Beach Marine Theatre to see Guy Lombardo ' s latest production \Hawaiian Paradise. \ The next meeting af the club will be held June 13 in the home of Mrs. Muriel Schneider. METHODIST CHURCH Services in the Methodist Church at Five Corners Sunday will be at 11 a. m. when there will be a reception of members by transfer ol church letter and con- fession of faith. During the month of June the church school will con- tinue to meet at 9:30 a.m. but the Famil y Service of Corporate Worship will be discontinued. At a recent meeting of the Of- ficial Board it was decided to hold one service of coi porate worship at 9:30 a.m. during the months of July and August including the first Sunday in September. The church school will meet at 9:30 a.m. as usual , but for children age 3 through grade six onl y.
