On May 31 the troop met at the Center Moriches School with their leader , Mrs. Reidar Ol- son, together with Mrs. Frank Frederick, troop treasurer , and Mrs. John Penney, troop consul- tant. The Yellow Patrol presented a p lay about Paul Revere. Includ- ed in the play were June Fred- erick , Rebecca Smith , Frances Jaro , Rachel Nooger and Kathe- rine Francis. On June 7 the group met again at the Center Mori- ches School with leader Mrs . 01- sen and Mrs. Frederick , treasurer. Mrs. Paul Meyer visited the troop. t\ play was presented b y the Pan- sy Patrol entitled , \The Fighting Teens , \ a p lay based on how not to behave. Those taking part were Linda T rivelli . Kitty Jones , Reidun Olsen , Barbara Klopotov , Patty Robinson and Ronnie Agnetti. The final meeting of the season will be held on June 1-1 . ROSARY—A LTAR SOC. Rosary-Altar Society of St. John ' s R. C. Church held its last business meeting of the year June 5 after devotions. The president , Mrs. Dolly O'Connell presided. There were 80 members present. The meeting was begun with the recitation of the rosary led by the officers. The annual financial re- port was made and it was found to have been a very successful year. Plans were made for the double sale scheduled for June 24 and 25. There will be a furniture and rummage sale on June 24 , and a cake and religious articles sale after masses on Sunday June 25. The latter sale is to be held on the lawn of the old r-ectory, wea- ther permitting. All proceeds from these com. Ined sales are to be used to defray the costs of preparing the altar in the new auditorium. The Rev. Andrew Klarmann thank- ed all of the members for the wonderful job they had done on preparing the altar , and hoped that such cooperation would con- tinue. Father Klarmann then spoke on the mass , explaining a little more of its meaning. Mrs. O'Connell gave a talk on button collecting and had samples for all to see. The meeting was closed and everyone enjoyed refreshments before leaving. Robert Blechner , son of Alfred Blechner of Bank Street , is vaca- tioning at the home of his grand- mother , Mrs. Sop hie Blechner on Bank Street. At present he is a resident of Throggs Neck , the Bronx. Mrs. Ingred Abrahamsen of Holiday Boulevard , Holiday Beach , was hostess to the Cub Pack 23 committee meeting June G. Plans were dis- cussed for attending the annua ' Cub Scout committee dinner Jul y l , at the Non-Commissioned Of- ficier ' s Club at Suffolk County Air Force Base at Westhampton Beach. There was a bazaar workers ' meeting of St. John ' s R. C. Church , June 6 , at the barn. The Rev. Andrew Klarmann presided with Mrs. Dmytro Pysarchuk , in the absence of the Rev. Matthew Wisniewski. Workers were assign- ed their jobs for the nights of the bazaar , to be held Jul y 14 , 15 , 21 , 22 and 23. The next bazaar meeting will be at 8 p. m. June 27 at the barn. DEDICATION The dedication of St. John ' s School and the Father Kowalski Auditorium will be held at 2: '30 p. m. Sunday. Bishop Walter P. Kellenberg will officiate. The Rev. Edward Muhs , past curate of St. John ' s , will give an address. The dedication dance will be held beginning at 9 p. m. Satur- day in the auditorium. Music will be supplied by the Syncopaters and the Swinging Shepherds. The Syncopaters will play from 10 p. m. to 2 a. m. and the Swinging Sheperds , the opening hour and al- so during intermissions taken by the Syncopaters. During the even- ing a buffet will be served by Adam Drozd. The Journal , which is being published, will be a real keepsake. Butt Is Reelected President Of Remsenburg Association By Willis Tuthfl l Interest in the Remsenburg Association was shown in the large gathering of its members and some of their guests at the annual meeting Saturday afternoon at the clubhouse. An estimated 100 persons attended the meeting. Refreshments were served. The business meeting was call- ed to order by the president , Al- bert W. Butt , Jr., with Mrs . John Marbury, acting as secretary, call- ing the roll. O fficers chosen for the ensuing year are president , Albert W. Butt , Jr., vice president , Josep h J. Hag- gerty, and treasurer , Lloyd O Davis. After three years as sec- retary Mrs. Marbury declined re- nomination. Her p lace will be fill- ed by Mrs. Leonard L. Bishop, Jr. Two governors , Chauncey G. Co zine and James J. McCourt , were unanimousl y elected for a term of three years. The two retiring members of the board are Mrs. Butt and Ralph H. Knaub. Clinton Hammond , a member , was g iven a vote of thanks for his contribution of ''Posted\ si gns — 500 of them —¦ which proved ef- fective in protecting property against hunters and trespassers during the hunting season. Never was the village so well covered. Posted si gns were everywhere — on trees , fences , buildings. Never before have the birds and small game been so well f ed as they were during the past winter. Particularly was this true when the ground was covered with snow. As usual the Remsenburg Asso- cation rose to the occasion to pro- vide food for wildlife. Mr. Butt got busy. A quantity of feed — tvll kinds for little birds and bi g ones, including wild ducks in bay and creeks—was quickly procured. A S> helicopter was used to scattei larger grain-like corn for the ducks. Mr. Butt and his committee cir- culated appeals for contribution? to carry on the work as long at was necessary. The association gave $25 , and the garden club $lf as a starter. Response to the ap peal for funds was so generous that money was left over—sc much i nfact that it was put ir the bank and is being held foi futu re use when and if we arc faced with another such emergency next winter or any time in the future. The money will be used for the birds, rabbits and squirrels. Brownie Tr. 112 Marks 1st Year With Big Dinner MANORVILLE—Brownie Troop 112 held its first annual mother- daughte. - dinner at \The Maples '' on June 7. The program commenc- ed with an opening flag ceremony and \ grace. \ Af ter dinner the girls sang \Hello \ to their moth- ers and also sang a motion song \Kee-Chee \ from the Belgian Congo. Mrs. Rodney Stafford , acting as master-of-ceremonies , greeted those present. She thanked Mrs. Milton Raynor , leader , for the ex- cellent Brownie program she had provided the girls during the past year. Mrs. Raynor and her assis- tants , Mrs. Catherine Cunning- ham and Mrs. Lowen Shamburg, were presented with corsages by the Brownies. Mrs. Paul Meyer , training chair- man for South Suffolk Girl Scout Council , was introduced and spoke to the girls about the beginning of scouting and of the aims of the organization. She congratulated the troop on the completion of its first successful year. Mrs. Raynor presented the girls with their membership stars , World pins and a photograph of the whole troop as a remembrance for its original members. Mrs. Dempsey Royalty and Mrs. James Gilmarlin also spoke of the fine year the girls had had and also thanked Mrs. Raynor and her as- sistants for their excellent work.
