Mrs. Thomas Reill y and son , Thomas and daughters , Kathleen , Linda and Helen , Mr. and Mrs. Walter Taylor and family, Jean- ette and Robert Taylor of Mastic ; Mr. and Mrs. Louis Camp bell and children , Susan , Linda and Daniel of Brooklyn , and Kathleen and Mastic Beach Brownies Hold Fly-Up Ceremony MASTIC BEACH — On Tuesday evening \Fl y-Fp \ ceremonies for the Brownies of Mastic Beach Troop 31 were held at the Demo- cratic Clubhouse on Locust Drive with Leader Airs . James Muriay and Assistant Leader Mrs. Fred Goetz. Opening with the flag cei'emony and the Girl Scout Pledge each Brownie approached the small flower-decked bridge , which would cairy them f. om Brownie to In- termediate Girl Scouting. At the bridge ' s approach Mrs. Murray saluted each girl and presented her with her Brownie wings. As they crossed over they were met b^ their \Big Sisters \ who were Scouts of Miss Geraldine Man- zolollo ' s Troop 113 , and Mrs . Doii- nie Petril' o ' s Troop 73. Each sis- ter led the fly-up Brownie to their new leader who asked of them , \B y what right do you fly-up?\ and received the answer \By the ri g ht of my Brownie wings. ' The leader then p inned each g irl with her Girl Scout pin. Brownie Fly Ups were Karen Andersen , Stella Demasi , Susan Doyle , Susan Fran z , Catherine Ian- natto , Ann Marie Luisi, Bernice Martin , Dore Meers , Diane Mu- sico , Sandra Rauso , Eileen Ruge , Leonore Ruggerio , Darlene Smith and Helen VanLith. An award for perfect attend- ance and being an Idea l Brownie was- presented to Kare n Anderse n and other awards were also pre- sented to Susan Doy le , Helen Van- Lith , Sandra Rauso , and Dore Meers . First year pins , .presented by Mrs. Murray, were given to Dian e Musico , Susan Franz , Karen An- dersen , Ann Marie Luisi , Helen VanLith , Susan Doyle, Bernice Martin , and Leonore Ruggerio. Second year p ins were awarded to Eileen Ruge , Darlene Smith , San- dra Rauso and Dore Meers. Miss Manzolillo also presented second class badges and year pins to Enid Carlson , Elizabeth Carr , Mary Sullivan , Veronica Duffy, Judith Endresen , Kathy Heslin , Judy Lauria , Wend y Lichtenbergei' , Ja- net Rugo and Donna Stewart and a secon d class badge to Leslie Elms of Troop 113. Theresa Mor- elli of this troop received her year pin , and Travel , First Aid to Ani- mals , and Cook Proficiency badges and Eileen -McDermott received her Girl Scout and Worl d Pin. The new Intermediate Scouts then participated in a solem n candlelig ht ceremony where each girl recited one of the laws of scouting and then p laced a lighted candle in a holder on a flower decorated table. Later a skit entitled \Wheneve r You Make A Promise \ was put on by members of Troop 113 and the Brownies and Girl Scoxits san g several songs. The ceremonies end- ed with all the scouts forming a \Wishing Ring \ . Mrs. Murray and Mrs. Go°tz then presented each of the Fly- Ups with a \Girl Scout Handbook \ as a present from the troop.
