Las t Thursday night the depart- ment celebrated Firemen ' s Night with a large parade throu gh one of the main thoroug hfares of Lakeland. The Sayville Fire De- partment was judged the best ap- pearing* department in the line of march and the Blue Point Fire Department was second. The Smithtown Fi re Department had the most men in line and Ne-con- set Fire Department had the most women. Mastic Beach received the award for coming the greatest distance and Bohemia received the award for the best women march- ers. {.Inl y U and 12 the Lakeland firemen were called to Pine Beach to extinguish brush fi res.
