Address all queries to \Social Securit y Question Box , \ The Long Island Advance , P. O. Box 780 , Patch- ogu e , New York . Question : I read in the news- paper that the people like myself who are now getting the very low- est social security benefits will get a raise in their payments. Should I get in touch with my local social security office to make sure that I get my increase ? Answer: No. The benefit in- creases provided in the 19G1 amendments to the social security law will be made automatically and will be included in the checks delivered early in September. It is , therefore , not necessary to get in touch with your local social security office about your in- crease. Question : I understand that men can now get social security bene- fits at 62. I will be 02 in the Fall. Should I appl y for my social security benefits now ? Answer: The 1901 amendments to the social security law do make it possible for men to get old-age insurance benefits at 02 , instead of waiting until they reach 05. You should understand , however , that if vou do file for benefits early, the monthly amount you can get is permanently reduced. In other words , your benefit will always be less than you could have been paid at 05 on the basis of your past earnings. 1 TVTTT QA 1 1 IVJL Jtl-olJ I £S •¦ w mmtB I ^ BB ^msr ^mm^r jgg SPROUT CONTROL H Jr „ ,. rt» vtf** 1 ^ -i i *1*<v -* \ I „ « «» <*VAV» l H HP* ^M ' ««<< >;> * v ,*»\ £* 'V* «¦¦ ?** * , 0 <V%?' <-i ^ T * C^i S&- ^' J ^& !S J 5S : \l BBm\\\ m\ ^S\iS* ;£ ^ ^ -aftJI # United States Rubber Naugatuck Chemical Division Naugatuck , Connecticut producers of seed protectants , fungicides , miticides , Insecticides , growth retard- ants* herbicides ; Soergon.
