S. A., Inc. held its regular monthly meeting Jul y 21 at Memorial Hall , Main Street , Bay Shore. Commander X. J. Benzinger an- nounced that the membership chair- man , Charles Jedlicka , and his membership committee went over the 200 membership quorum set for the month of Jul y. The barracks had a full dele- gation at the New York State con- vention held at Utica Jul y 14-16 with a representation of 16 dele- gates. Aide-de-Camp Irving Haas of the Bay Shore-Islip Barracks broug ht back a full report. The barracks was sorry to re- port it has lost another one of its buddies , John Ward of West lslip. The barracks conducted fun- eral services at the grave in Mem- orial National Cemetery, Pine- lawn . ' An invitation was extended to * the barracks to participate at the MacArthur Exposition and Fair to be held at 7:30 p. m. at MacArthur Airport by the Town of lslip, September 14-17 on vet- eran ' s night. The Commander re- quests every member to attend. To be eligible for membership in the Veterans of World War I one must have served from April 6 , 1917 to November 11 , 1918 and received an Honorable Discharge. The organization still has two men in Fort Hamilton Hospital. They are Charles Johnston and Walter Chaskel. The unit urged its members to send \ get-well\ cards and remem- ber Mr. Chaskel' s birthday this week.
