Zonin g Board Today Considers Request To Construct Pool The Town Zoning Board of Ap- peals will consider the app lication tor a front-yard setback variance to build a swimming pool in Cen- ter Moriches at a public hearing, scheduled for 2 p. m. today at Town Hall , Patchogue. A pp licants are Elvira and An- gelo Squallaro of Flushing, who request permission to build a swimming pool in the rear of their home which is located on the northwest corner of- Winnie Road and Laura Lee Drive , Center Mo- riches. Under the town ' s new swimming pool ordinance a pool must be constructed in the rear of a dwell- ing. Since the property is on a corner , the pool could onl y bo placed in the side yard. Therefore , a variance is required , explained Josep h S. Corbett , zoning board chairman. The new ordinance requires , he said , that the pool be surrounded by a five-foot fence with self- locking gates. Firehouse Extension The board will also consider the application of the Mastic Fire District for a side and front-yard variance for a proposed addition to the Mastic Fire House. Under the requirements of the J-2 business zone a 1 5-foot front yard is stipulated.
