Senior Patrol Leader James Le Maiie , Lion Pati ol Lea- der Charles Bellino and Troop Scribe John Klingenbeck demon- strated how to determine the direc- tion of North without the aid of a compass by means of the sun s shadow through using sticks and a watch. Tenderfoot Scouts Bobby Jones , Walter Hailend and Dan Mones passed Second Class cooking tests. After the presentation of the charter , skits and songs were pre- sented by the scouts. Donnell y Heads Police Chiefs ' Assn. of NY State Suffolk County Police Inspect- or Theodore F. Donnelly of Smith - town , serving as chief investiga- tor for District Attorney John P. Cohalan , Jr., has been elected president of the Association of Police Chiefs of the State of New York. Inspector Donnell y and other police officials , including River- head Police Chief Stephen Grod- ski attended the State Police Chiefs ' Association conference held last week at Glens Falls. The election of officers took place at the close of the four- day convention. About 250 dele- gates attended. Inspector Donnell y has been a police officer for about 27 years. In 1934 he became an investigator for the Suffolk Distiict Attorneys office. He was ranked inspector when the DA investigators were absorbed into the Countv Police Department. He seived with Naval Intelligence during World War II and also was a special agent for the FBI for two yeais.
