Dominy, Sheriff My office continues to be kept busy in addition to its regularly- stated duties , with the issuance of identification cards to those of eighteen years of age or over for use as proof of age when pa- tronizing restaurants , etc. where alcoholic beverages are served. During July, three special days for issuing these cards were held in the eastern end of the county, and three additional days in the western end. Throughout the month , at these special locations and from the office in Riverhead , over 430 cards were issued. These cards bear the name , address , date of birth , signature and photo- graph of the bearer. They then are signed by me and laminated to avoid mutilation. M y office shall continue to is- sue these cards from Riverhead , and another special day may be held in the western end during August. As I have stated many times previously, the only manda- tory requirement is a birth cer- tificate. During last month , we trans- ported eight prisoners to Elmira Reception and Reformatory, in four trips. Deputies also escorted , on two different trips , two prison- ers to Sing Sing Prison at Ossin- ning. One trip, with one prisoner was taken to Woodburn Correc- tional Institute , Woodburn. i /SI^^Sl B&xan Arms I | tjSKSfllJ, RESTAU RANT ; _ .. _ — — — —->——-.— — — rn.rn.mtm. mm mmmmM.
