P' chogue A qua Show Set for August 29 ALBANY — It' s easier this year than ever before to renew your New York State operator ' s license , Motor Vehicle Commis- sioner William S. Hults explained this week. Before Tuesday, every operator whose valid license expires Sep- tember 30 will have received one of the depai\tment' s new punch- card applications in the mail. To have the punch card validat- ed , there are three steps motoi > - ists must take : 1. Check the pre-printed punch card for accuracy. 2. Answer a few health ques- tions and sign your name. 3. Take — or mail — the ap- plication to your nearest motor vehicle issuing office , together with the fee stamped on the ap- plication and your old license re- newal stub. If your papers are all in order , the clerk at the issuing office will accept . your fee and stamp part of the application. This become s your license , and conveniently fits into your wallet. If there are inaccuracies in the pre-printed matter , you should point them out to the clerk in the issuing office. In most cases , it is possible to get your new li- cense right away, and a corrected license soon afterwards. Commissioner Hults had this ad- ditional warning : \If your operator ' s license ex- p ires this September 30 , and you haven 't received your punch-card application in the mail by August 15, contact your nearest motor ve- hicle office immediately. \ \Above all, \ said Commissioner Bults , \don 't lose your applica- tion. It' s an important document , and the onl y way to get another is to make a special app lication , which has to be processed in Al- bany. \ \If you should lose or mutilate your application , however , you should get in touch with your nearest motor vehicle office imme- diately, to avoid delay, \ he added. The Patchogue branch of the Department of Motor Vehicles re- cently moved from 28 Lake Street to 185 South Ocetan Avenue. A motor vehicle issuing office is also located at the Suffolk County Clerk' s office in Riverhead.
