Fifth Precinct police said. James Harmon Lott of 18 Bell- port Lane , police said , suffured ac t-rat.ons and abia*dons of the face in the accident which occurr- ed about 3:55 p. m. at Champ lin Avenue and the railroad tiaeks in Hagerman. According to police reports , Mr. I ott was tra\ eling south on Cham- plin Avenue and the train , whose engineer was Charles Tyrell. was progi essing west , when the acci- dent took p lace. Some residents may remember Ihe founding of the Junior Civic Association quite a number of years ago by a group of young peop le who wanted to rep lace the windows that were knocked out of the old station by vandals. The association has been dormant for several years but has just been reorganized after it was discovered that the club still has a checking account worth about $300. iThe new group has met twice so far. It pledges to keep young people of any age group \ off the streets \ by offering facilities for more useful and pleasant occupa- tions. The group hopes to have weekly meetings and to include in its program square dancing, folk singing, ping pong matches , lawn tennis and other pastimes and games. Reilly of South Country Road , left after her three and a half weeks ' vacation to con- tinue her education at the Nursing School of the Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson. On August 8 Daria Robbiano , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Robbiano of Mott Lane , gave a part y for 35 friends at her father ' s Restaurant , \The Better 'Ole. \ Sharon Andors , daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Andors , celebra- ted her ninth birthday August 1 with a surprise dinner party at home. The family then took the six children for a short spin on the bay aboard their cruiser , Shallo. To celebrate their fourteenth wedding anniversary August 17 , Dr. and Mrs. Leonard Andors took a cruise last weekend on their boat , sailing through the bay to Shin- necock. They fished in the Inlet and came back along the ocean. Mr. and Mrs. August Gueirera of Fireplace Neck Road returned last Sunday from a 4-day vacation. They motored to Mystic , Conn., and Narraganselt , R.L , using the Orient Point Ferry for crossing Long Island Sound. On Monday, the Brookhaven- South Haven Auxiliary Unit of the Brookhaven Memorial Hospi- tal will hold its monthly meeting at 8 p. m. at the parish house of the St. James Episcopal Church. The group is busily occupied with preparing the bazaar to be held in the Fall. Many items have al- ready been made in numerous meetings of the members or by helpers in their own homes. Among the finished products are many useful knitted or crocheted baby things , all kinds of sewn ar- ticles , leather baby booties , polish- ed salad bowls , etc. Mrs. Emma Reid of South Coun- try Road recently sold her house , which she has occup ied for the last 22 years , to Mr. and Mrs. Frank Simpson of Yaphank Ave- nue. She expects to leave Brook- haven by car August 28 and will drive to San Francisco to live near her son , Dr. Robert H. Reid , who lives with his wife and their three children in Lafayette , Calif. In the meantime Mrs. Reid gets invited by her numerous friends who will miss her companionship. On Thursday Mrs. Aletta Seaman of Brooklyn came out to entertain her for luncheon at The Shoreham in Sayville , and on Friday Mr. and Mrs. William Schliffer and Mr. and Mrs. Hermann Albrecht took her for luncheon to Gil Clark' s Restaurant in Bay Shore. Mrs. Mae Glen of Richmond Hills , sister of Frank Craven of Old Stump Road , stayed with her brother and sister-in-law last weekend. The Cravens ' daughter and her husband , Mr. and Mrs. Stanley W. Wnenta of Carman Boulevard , took her to the show \Paradise Island\ at Jones Beach Friday. On Sunday night the Wnentas entertained at a barbe- cue. 'Mrs. Alfred Bruce , who is known to many residents in Brookhaven having lived here a long time be- fore moving to California two years ago , left yesterday after laving spent a week with her cou- sin , Miss Mary Barteau of South Country Road. She is going to visit friends and relatives in New England before her return to Los \ngeles in September where she ives close to her son who is a television producer. Mr. and Mrs. Norman L.
