Four Men Face First Degree Burglary Charge SHIRLEY — A 20-year-old man and three 1 7-year-olds are beino- held without bail at the count y jail , Riverhead. for action of the Urand Jury on charges of i 'irst-de . trree burglary following an incident here Sunday. Robert McCleary and Detec- tive John Drew. Det . McCleary said Mr. Bnrjros admitted his part in an attempted nnrejary in Shirley Sunday niyht and identified the three ether de- fendants as pari icipatine - in the attempted burglary . According to police two of the defendants entered the home of David P. McXulty of Park Ave- nue , Shirley, about 10: l. r > ]>. m. throu »h an open <i , araeo door , walked through an open bre '-ze- way door and entered the room of the 10-year-old , e , randdau o-hter of Mr. McXulty. Police said the yii'l sci-eamed and Mr. Buruos strii K 'Rled with her to keep her quiet. Hearing the screams , police said. Mr. McXulty came into the bedroom and was knocked down b y one of the two men as they dash- ed out of the house and escaped on foot with the other two men who wei'e waiting outside . Police said they found in the woods across the street from the McXult y home a roto-broil , vacu- um cleaner- , tire and wheel , electric can grinder , a solderino- iron , mis- cellaneous tools and a tool box , which , they said, the defendants had stolen from the McXult y house and had planned to pick up later. At about 7 a. m., Monday, pol- ice arrested at their homes , Ray- mond C' ampo , Josep h Campo and De Giovine. Det. S . u't. McCleary said the three men admitted under questioning that they had taken part in tne attempted burglary.
