The fire took place on Bell- port Road. Chief Herbert Davis asl*- *? that motorists in cars be par- ticularly careful not to throw lighted cigarettes from their car windows. Chief Davis and Assis- tant Chief Stanley Kazel attended the Brookhaven Town Fire Chiefs Council meeting held in Middle Is- land. The third grade class of the Main Street School and the kin- dergarten class of the Charles E. Walters School visited the Yap- hank Firehouse last week and this week the second grade class from the Mlain Street School will visit the firehouse. Fire Prevention and Fall Out reading material has been p laced in the Yaphank Post Office on Main Street and anyone interested may get the material from the post office. Saturday night the Big Mas- querade Dance will take place at the firehouse. Costume s are the order for the evening. Prizes will be awarded for the most novel idea. Fred Lang, general sales manager of Mobilization of Republican En- terprise , a Republican progra m , told the group about the workings of this new party program and outlined the aims and purposes of MORE. Justice Larsen spoke at length on the Republican Party program for Brookhaven and described each of the candidates on a slate headed by Charles R. Dominy. candidate for supervisor of Brookhaven Town. Refreshments were served at the close of the meeting. There will be a special meeting October 25 to consider up dating the constitution.
