By George Horst ' We had three fires this past week and it proved quite a variety, one each of the following: house , car and woods. I am very happy to repeat that all were dispatched quickly and with the thoroughness that training gives to volunteer fi reni/en. At 8 p. m. tomorrow , we hold our monthly meeting. Sunday at 10 a. ni. we hold our first drill of November. j Only one fireman left on our disabled list — our chief , Jack Condon. Very shortly he too , ex- pects to be back in the full swing of things. Remember that the woods are now drying out as they do at this time of the year. Please be extra careful when you burn as a fire can get out of control very quick- ly. Our woodlands grow more im- portant each year and carelessness can cause irreparable damage to them. Now that our Fall \fire season \ has begun , let me remind you that when you see the flashing blue li ghts , it is your volunteer firemen on their way to an emergency, so please allow them, the right-of- way. No one knows where fire will strike and remember , although no one wishes it , it could be you who needs us. B rookhaven - South H aven Mrs. Harriet Fellman AT 6-1327 Mr. and Mrs. Russell G.
