Tuthill CAKE SALE A cake sale held b y parents and ti achers of the Remsenburg School Tuesday went towards a fund for the children of the school lor various activities during the Winter and Spring. This fund pays the expenses of school parties at Christmas, for Field Day which is held in June and for the purchase of library books for all grades. Last Summer the school board built a room in the basement for tlie use of ch'Idren and teachers. r l \ ..e parents are planning to con- tribute to this room by decorating- it with drape s, rugs and other furnishings. ' Among those attending the West Methodist Church supper last Thursday were Mrs. Josephine Davis , Mrs. SoIIace Good , Mrs. Ainslie Baird and Mr. and Mrs. Willis B. Tuthill. A long line waited to be served with barbecu- ed chicken , clam pie , beans , peas , cold slaw , sweet and white pota- toes mashed, p ie , cake and coffee. The clam pies were baked by Mrs. Katherine Culver. Both men and women worked in the kitchen and at the food table from which the various portions were served. Here over the weekend were Mrs. Vincent DiRuocco and two daughters. Barbara and Bianca , who visited M , vs. DiRuocco ' s pa- rents , Mr. and Mrs. Algernon B. Jayne , and her grandmother , Mrs. Marguerite Tuthill , who is 90 years of age. Mrs. DiRuocco drove from her home in Ossining while Mr. DiRuocco was on a business trip to Maine. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cloudman have rented the Bootes cottage on Halsey Lane and are moving in this week. Mr. Cloudman is a technician for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft and is stationed at the Suffolk Count y Air Force Base. Mr. and Mrs. George E. Mr. Lawson is a re- sident of Southwind Drive, Rem- senburg, and Mrs. Lawson is the former Mrs. Victoria Kostenik , owner and operator of Vic ' s Lun- cheonette on Montauk Highway, Speonk. She was the widow of Michael Kostenik. Mr. Lawson is an engineer at the Suffolk Air Base. Sergeant and Mrs. Adam Landry have moved to a new base in Louisiana to which he has been assigned. Medford Avenue School PTA to Meet Wednesday District 12 Plans After-School Program MIDDLE ISLAND—Beginning- Monday, School District 12 will have an after school program in its three elementary schoo ' s for re- medial in-truction and rchool clubs and sports, announced Supervising Principal Dr. Louis V. Nannini. The program which will be held one day per week in each of the schools from 2:30 to 3:30 p. m., was approved recentl y by the board of education on the recommendation \f the administrative staff. Mon<\v was allocated in the budget to cover the program , Dr. Nannini said. Two extra school buses will be re- quired, he said to transport chil- dren to their homes. A pproximate- ly 50 children are expected to take part each day the program is con- ducted.
