The Medical unit of the Lake- land Fire Department held their annual masquerade dance Saturday night in the firehouse on Johnson Avenue. The affair was a huge success with more than 200 pre- sent. NAUTICAL CADETS The Allied Nautical Cadets of the Farmingville-Holtsville battal- ion were given an official inspec- tion by the Suffolk County Divi- sion , Lt. Chai les Tillduster , execu- tive officer. Ensign Thomas Dobbs , Ensign Edward Wray, sup- ply officer , Ensign Joyce Wray, personnel officer and CWO Robert Riedel of the Timber Point Bat- talion in Islip. After the inspec- tion the battalion was highly praised for their fine functional operation and quick adaptability to the new review procedures. On Armistice day the cadets will march in a parade in Jamaica and for November 18 CWO Riedel of the Isli p battalion has invited the group to join them on an ex- cursion to King ' s Point Merchant Marine Academy to watch a re- view and the foot -all game. The Nautical Cadets was for- mally organized in May of this year. Thomas Lombino , president of the Youth Advisory Group, l ealizing a need for sj ch a group in our area , approached James Reill y, w *ho is presently still in the Navy, to undertake command of the battalion. Mr. and Mrs. Reilly took the task jointly and have bi ought the battalion up to a fiist class rating in this short span of time.
