Panelists were Edwin Clare , at- torney in charge of the Legal Aid Society, Bay Shore; Frank Bianca , assistant director of the Depart- ment of Public Welfaie; Jack Fechter , assistant superintendent of the Board of Cooperative Edu- cational Services , Second Supervi- sory District; Dr, Oscar Pelzman. p^ychiatri -t with the Suffolk County Mental Health Board , Holtsville; and the Rev. Geiald Ryan , director of the family divi- sion of Catholic Charities , Bav Shore. Rober . Robert Waldbauer , Ma- yor of Patchogue , read a procla- mation regarding Founders ' Day of the family service league. The panelists , all professional members , represented the clergy, psychiatry, education , legal and so- cial work. Discussions were held on marriage problems , parent- child conflicts , and famil y budget- ing and indebtedness , followed by questions from the audience. Each panelist expressed , from his view- point , the need for a family coun- 1 soling service in Brookhaven Township. Fees for counseling at the fam- /j y service league are charged ac- c ording to individual income. This represents only approximately 5 per cent of the total support. The other 95 per cent is provided by >the community. Support is ob- tained through membership and a ways and means comanittee of vol- unteers. Session ( South School ) art students are making tissue pa- per stained glass windows which will be placed at strategic points around the school after Thanks- giving and will remain until a few days before vacation. Ninth grade General Art Stu- dents are , in addition , in the midst of reproducing their own drawings by means of the silk screen pro- cess. Each student is required co submit at least 10 prints done in at least 2 colors. They were the guests of the Suf- folk County Association of Junior High School administrators and guidance personnel. There was discussion on the importance of a student council and its effect on the students. Kathy Biggs of Patchogue , on behalf of both sessions , requested that the next meeting be held at Patchogue Junior High School, the future. Shirley Man Hurt In 2-Car Accident SHIRLEY — A 19-year-old Shirley youth who was on leave from the United States Navy suf- fered a cerebral concussion last Thursday when he was in a two- car collision on Hounslow Road , about 20 feet south of Roberts Road. Dr. Frank P. Calabro of Mastic Beach , the attending physician , re- ported that the youth , Francis Joseph Vassallo of Linden Avenue , was taken to St. Alban ' s Naval Hosp ital in Queens Friday from Bayview Hospital , where he had been admitted. Sixth Precinct Patrolman D. A Kanehl , who investigated the ac- cident , reported that a car operat- ed by Victor J. Rugg, 41 , of 270 Delaware Avenue , Bay Shore , was travelling east on Roberts Road and the Vassallo auto was prog- ressing north on Hounslow Road. According to police , Mr. Rugg told them his vehicle skidded on loose gravel when the accident occurred at 8:20 a. m. November 16.
