A full complement of members , their families and friends attended. A full course roast prime ribs oi* beef dinner , and music by the Mike Greco band and a hi^h spirited crowd contributed to mak- ing the event a very gay evening. Guests-of-honor were Robert William D. Heins . representing Walter Shirley, Thomas M. Nep- pell , John B. Cummings and Ray- mond W. Batt. In ceremonies which followed the dinner , Joseph Incremona pre- sented the Shirley Yacht Club with a 50 star flag which he said had been flown over Congress twice , being the second flag in the nation accorded this honor. Following the pledge to the flag, came the in- stallation of Commodore Charles Stark and his officers by past Commodore Rudolf Schulz * . Ray- mond Batt installed the Board of Governors , wi th Thoma. s Neppell as master-of-ceremonies . Following thp installation and a brief speech. Commodore Stark then introduced Mario Coelho , winner of the Commodore ' s Cup Race held in the regatta of Sept- ember , '1. Fleet Captain Josep h Nemeth presented Mario with a plaque inscribed Shirley \Skipper Of The Year \ , and the beautiful Commodore ' s Cup also bears the same inscrip tion , the firs t in what will be an annual feature of all Shirley Yacht Club regattas to come. Walter Moody of the entertain- ment committee called upon Ann Deskin to pick the two a- ward winners. The first award , an R. C. A. portable stereo player with six stereo long p lay records , was won by L. Petrosa and the second award , an R. C. A. clock radio , was won by Sophie Zmi- brzycki of Shirley. Officers installed to serve with Commodore Stark include Josep h Nemeth , vice commodore; Walter Moody, rear commodore ; trea- surer , Charles Valder , and secre- tary, Eva Moody. Installed as members of the board were James Cately, Mac Deskin , Vincent Ford , Joseph Incremona , Rudolf Schulz and Edward Valder. The purpose of the meeting was to explain the Ameri- can Cancer Society Unit Organi- zation and to point out how this can bring about a more effective cancer control program in south- ern Brookhaven town.
