A fi fth teenager , 15 years of age , was turned over to the Youth Squad for possible action b y the Children ' s Court. He was released in the custody of his parents. Pol- ice declined to give his name. Alert action by three Fifth Pre- cinct patrolmen led to the arrest of the youths. Police said the four youths are being charged specifi- call y with burglarizing Ellrich' s service station . East Moriches , Movember 23 , of cigarettes , cigars , candy and a small amount of cash , and Potter and Robinsons , Inc. of 33 Medford Avenue , Pat- chogue on November 22 , of a pola- roid camera , $4 in currency and a roll of stamps. According to police the youths are believed to have participated in more than 20 other burglaries and cases of breaking and enter- ing in Brookhaven and Isli p x owns. Police ^aid those held in River- head and the addresses they gavt were John Thomas Corcoron , 17 j l Lynwood Avenue; Paul Jame Lupia , 16 , of 24 Lexington Avenue , and Harry Spencer Myers , 16 , o- Oakcreat Avenue , all of Farming ville , and Hilde Rosario Rivero , 18 , oi 538 South Ocean Avenue , Pat- chogue. Halted by Police The three patrolmen , Henry Brechter , WTliam G. Schoeninj, and Mart.n Otten , halted a cai .n which the five youths were rid ing about 4:30 a. m. Novembei 2' .i on Havens Avenue , near Lake Street , Patchogue. Patrolman Brechter , who was driving the pat- rol car , said he and the other officers decided to investigate the 1950 vehicle after seeing it travel- ling about the village earlier. In a routine check Patrolman Brecht- er had discovered on November 21 the break at Potter and Robinsons when he saw the door window broken on the south side of the building. Police said they pulled over the car driven by Rivero as it was- progressing north on Havens Ave- nue. A battery was found in the trunk , seven cartons of cigarette were discovered under the front seat and an assortment of ci gars and crackers were found in the glove compartment , police said. Fifth and Sixth Squad detectives were notified and the youth s were arrested at their homes during the day of November 23 , according to police. Police said the youths were stopped in Patchogue after they had broken into Ellrich' s service station on Montauk Hig hway by smashing a window and reaching in to unlock the door. On probation at the time of their arrest , police said , were Myers and Corcoran , who had been con- victed of burglary last year. Rivero , Myers , Corcoran . and Lupia were arraigned the night of November 23 before Patchogue Police Justice Arthur Mapes and waived examination for action of the Suffolk Grand Jury. Fifth Squad detectives , Sgt. Robert McCleary, John Drew and Thomas Meyer , and Sixth Squad detectives , Sg t. Williara Brown , Harold Smith and Thomas Stanton , made the arrests and are con- tinuing the investigation. At least nine of the burglaries are reported to have taken place in the Fifth Precinct area , one in the Third Precinct where $300 was reported stO'en and more than 10 in th\ Sixth Precinct vicinity, police said.
