Bay Pontiac Bldg. The grand opening of the new building at 17 Mediord Avenue , Patchogue , of South Bay Pontiac Motors , Inc., will be held tomorrow , announced John Marconi , president. \Better facilities and a lower cost in operation will result , \ Mr. Marconi said , \in more savings to the consumer. \ ihe building of steel-frame , clear-span construction has 11 , 000 square feet of show room and service area floor space. There is 13 , 000 square feet of parking area. The 1962 Pontiacs are being dis- p layed in a 70 by 40 foot show room with a front window of 1 ,800 square feet of g lass. There is ma- hogany paneling on the walls of the show room and the offices. The show room has an acoustic tile ceiling and indirect lighting. Nine cars may be p laced in the show room. Twenty persons are emp loye d by the firm , Mr. Marconi said . Starting in the au ' omobile service business in 1933 , Mr . Mar- coni has risen from a mechanic ' s helper to a selling dealer. He b ¦ - came service manager of South Bay Pontiac in 1951 when the com- pany was located at 252 East Main Street . He was part owner of tlie company in 1958 with Mrs. Harold Schackman , whose husband was previousl y the owner.
