Beach Scouts Bring Holid' y Joy To Area ' s Need y MASTIC BEACH — The past three months have been active ones for memoers of the Masti c Beach Boy Scout Troop No. 121 , scout- master David Baillie revealed this week as members of the troop took part in numerous hikes and day and night campouts. in addition , the boys took time out to render aid to several needy families in the area , Mr . Baillie added , a gesture made possible by the generosity of teenagers of the Shiney Property Owners inc who had raised the necessary funds by running teen-age dances at the clubhouse. Edward Orr and other members of that civic organization present- ed to this Troop five turkeys which were to be distributed to the families in want of this area as part of the Scout troop ' s ac- tive interest in affairs of tne com- munity. Mr. Bailie said he was also very pleased to announce that beginning in the New Year , Donald Bull , Sr., will once again be able to take up his post as assistant scoutmaster of the troop and resume his active role in the affairs of scouting. It was also stressed that there is still a great need for Scouts or of anyone interested in the Scouting movement to take an act- ive part in helping to prepare these future leaders of America to meet the challenges that tomorrow holds. Cosentino , son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cosentino of East Moriches , spent Christinas in the Italian port city of Naples where he is serving at the head quarters of the North Atlantic Treaty Or- ganization ' s Allied Forces in Southern Europe. He and his family joined hun- dreds of Italian , French , Greek and British military personnel and their families and friends in re- avowing the seasonal proverb — \Peace on Earth , Good Will to Men \ . Sgt. Cosentino is a communica- tions technician with this integrat- ed southern European allied com- mand which forms the defensive right flank of the NATO coun- tries. The command is responsible for the defense of 84 , 000 , 000 people in Italy, Greece and Tur- key. Traditional Christmas meals and brig htl y decorated trees were part of the holiday spirit. A short business meeting took place after which the ladies enjoyed games directed by Mrs. Alfred Blechner and Mrs. John Ciperano. The basement playroom was de- corated with streamers. Girl Scout Troop 23 met under the leadership of Mrs. Paul Meyer and Mrs. Marcus Flaherty at the Center Moriches School cafeteria and made Christmas decorations for their homes. The girls made Christmas cards and sent them to Brookhaven National Laboratory Hospital. The group held its an nual Christmas party in the high school auditorium December 18 , and about 30 attended.
