Reese presented a proposal to the board concerning the development of the village ' s Energy Conservation Program. The proposal met with the full approval of the board and will be implemented immediatel y. The mayor ' s five - point program is aimed at helping village residents , as well as non-village residents who utilize facilities within the village , to conserve gasoline and maximize use of existing village facilities. \I feel it is the responsibility of govern- ment at all level s to do all in its power to help our citizens during the time of crisis. The mayor ' s program is as follows : 1. Commuters who use the railroad station in Patchogue will be given the opportunity to contact other commuters in order to form car pools to and from the railroad station . This program will begin today, Thursday, June 28. 2. Village residents who work outside the Village of Patchogue will also be given the opportunity to develop car pools with other village residents travelling to the same location . The village ' s minibus service , which presentl y does not operate on Tuesdays , will run on that day to help residents commute to the business district and back , without the necessity of using their automobiles . The mayor stated that village personnel presently employed will operate the bus on that day at no added expense to the taxpayer. 4. Councilwoman Karen Lutz is still uncertain as to whether or nt\ t cHo will \i7Ck cr o Q npimorv compaign to win her party ' s designation to seek re-election . Mrs . Lutz , who was elected in 1975 with the help of the New Democratic Coalition , was unavailable for comment this week on the possibility of a primary . However , Councilwoman Regina Seltzer , who was renominated at last Wednesday ' s convention , said that Mrs. Lutz had not reached a decisi^r* A Q I TP H if she W\>\1H cnr»r>«r t Mrs . Lutz in a September primary , Mrs. Seltzer answered : \I would have to think about it. It depends upon lots of other things. \ Supervisor John F. Randolph , who was renominated without opposition , has reportedly said that he would have to think twice about backing Mrs. Seltzer if she were to support Mrs . Lutz.
